Directions to Helen, Georgia

From Atlanta: Approximately 85 miles North East - 1 1/2 hours. Go north to Gainesville, Exit 113 which is Hwy. 985-365. Go 42 miles continuing on Hwy. 365 to Hwy. 384. Turn left, go 16 miles to GA Hwy. 75, turn right and go three miles into Helen.

From GA 400: Take 400 North until it ends. Continue ahead on Hwy. 115. Go 5 miles to the traffic light. Turn right on Hwy. 52/115. Go 13 miles to Cleveland. At traffic light, turn left onto U.S. 129 N, go to the next traffic light and turn right on Hwy. 75 9 miles to Helen.
From South Carolina: Take I-85 South to Lavonia, GA Exit 173 (Hwy. 17 Helen/Toccoa) Travel west toward Toccoa and Clarkesville following Hwy. 17 signs to Helen.
From Chattanooga: Approximately 132 miles - 3 hours. Go south on I-75 to Dalton, GA. Take Hwy. 76 to Ellijay. From Ellijay continue south on Hwy. 52 to Dahlonega. At Dahlonega continue on 52/115 to Cleveland, GA at 1st traffic light in Cleveland, turn left on Hwy. 129 to next light. Then right on GA Hwy. 75 and travel 9 miles to Helen.
From Knoxville: Approximately 166 miles - 4 hours. Go I-75 south to Cleveland, TN. Go east on Hwy. 64 to junction of U.S. 129 south. Take 129 for about 30 miles to junction of 75 Alt. Continue on 75 Alt. for 9 miles to junction of 75 and south 1 miles into Helen.
From Athens: Approximately 70 miles - 1 1/2 hours. Take Hwy. 129 north through Jefferson, cross I-85, over to Gainesville. Stay on Hwy. 129 through Gainesville toward Cleveland. Hwy. 129 north will bring you into Cleveland. Go around the "Square" and to the 1st traffic light north of the square. Turn right onto Hwy. 75 north. It will be approximately 9 miles to Helen.

From Charlotte, N.C.: Approximately 200 miles - 3 1/2 hours. Take I-85 south into Georgia and exit at the Toccoa/Lavonia exit (Exit # 173). Turn left toward Toccoa. Go approximately 10-12 miles to By-pass hwy. 17 to the left. Make a left onto this 2 lane road. This By-pass 17 will eventually turn into a 4 lane Hwy. Continue approximately 11 miles until Hwy. 17 turns Right. Follow the signs to Clarkesville. Once you enter the Clarkesville City limit make a right at the 4 way flashing red light. Continue to the 3rd traffic light (Main Square). Turn left. This is Hwy. 17/115. Go out of town approximately 2 miles and Hwy. 17 will turn to the right. This 2 lane road will dead end (approximately 10 miles). Turn right at dead end. This is Hwy. 75 which runs straight through Helen. you are only one mile from Helen city limits. NOTE: You will stay on Hwy. 17 the entire trip from I-85, just don't miss the Hwy. 17 by-pass. Approximately 1 hour from I-85.

From Main Street: Hwy. 75 is also main street of Helen. From Main street you will turn onto Edelweiss Str. Edelweiss Str. leads to Brucken Str. Turn onto Brucken Str. You will come to a 3 way stop.
